Israeli police arrested a 26-year-old public bus driver in Jerusalem on Monday on suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence of illegal drugs.
The driver, a resident of East Jerusalem employed by a public transportation company, was stopped during a proactive enforcement operation conducted by detectives from the Jerusalem District's traffic unit, working alongside officers from the Oz police station.
Testing revealed the driver had cocaine and cannabis in his system at the time he was behind the wheel. Following the positive drug test results, he was taken into custody for questioning at the police station.
After a hearing conducted by a police officer at Oz station, authorities suspended the driver's license for 30 days. The bus he had been operating was also taken out of service for the same period.
