A shelter counselor was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman with special needs. After being brought for a request to extend his detention, the court decided to release him, and the police appealed against the decision

Publication allowed: A 23-year-old resident of Qalansuwa was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a special needs individual residing in a shelter.

The suspect, a counselor in the shelter in the Gush Dan region, was arrested three days ago following allegations that he assaulted one of the residents during the night between Sunday and Monday, hitting her in the face and causing injury to her eye. A investigation was launched against him two days ago, and yesterday (Wednesday), he was brought before the court for a detention extension. However, the court decided to release him, which the police have decided to appeal.
