A 48 year-old bus driver was hospitalized with moderate injuries on Sunday following a violent assault in Beit Shemesh.
Police investigators determined that a verbal dispute had broken out between the driver and the teenage passenger. According to the allegations, the confrontation turned physical when the suspect spat at the driver and then struck him with his fists. The assault left the driver requiring medical attention at a local hospital.
According to police reports, officers from the Beit Shemesh station responded to an emergency call about an altercation on a bus. When they arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled. Emergency medical personnel treated the injured driver before transporting him to a hospital for further care.
