Just before Shabbat, family members of hostages held by Hamas blocked traffic on Route 1, protesting the government's inability to sign a deal with the terrorist group. The protesters placed burning barrels with slogans calling on the government to take concrete steps for their relatives' release.

The headquarters of the movement said that protesters are: "burning the government's failures for abandoning their loved ones in the captivity of Hamas and for hardships inflicted on the public." "In particular we are protesting against the Prime Minister who let his political interests lead the war and sacrifice the hostages," it added.

"The Prime Minister, whose hands shed the blood of 1,400 murdered and 240 kidnapped, inflicted blows on the public that they will never forget," said the demonstrators. "Together with his government, he decided to abandon our loved ones in the cruel hands of Hamas. He failed and torpedoed the deals, he preferred his extremist partners Ben Gvir and Smotrich over the lives of our loved ones. As long as the citizens of Israel are held captive by Hamas, the Israeli government will not experience freedom, not even on Passover - We will burn the bad from among us."
