Deputy council head sends scathing letter demanding immediate transfer of allocated charity funds, as residents launch petition: The charity funds are collapsing under the burden
A storm erupted in Telz Stone over allocated charity funds meant to support needy families in the settlement. Residents launched a public petition calling on council head Yitzhak Ravitz and local council members to complete the required procedures and transfer the funds immediately.
Deputy council head Uri Fox sent a scathing public letter to Ravitz demanding the immediate transfer of support funds designated for charity funds, needy families, and kollel scholars.
The residents' petition states that local charity funds assist families in need throughout the year, with demand for aid particularly high during the holiday season. Residents are asking the council "to do everything within their authority to complete the required procedures and enable the transfer of support funds as soon as possible."
The petition emphasizes that "on this important and sensitive issue, it is possible and appropriate to unite around a shared goal: caring for families who need public assistance."
Fox's letter notes that the council's 2026 budget includes a line item designated for aid to the needy, and an additional budget for kollel scholar support, but claims the funds have not yet been transferred.
"The charity funds are collapsing under the burden! I decided not to remain silent!" Fox wrote in his letter. He claimed that an emergency meeting of activists revealed that many families cannot pay at the grocery store, and that additional needs exist that the charity funds cannot finance.
Later in the letter, he addressed the agreements that led to approval of the council budget, claiming that one reason for his support was a commitment to assist local charity funds. "I approached you many times, but you refused to transfer the funds to the charity funds," Fox charged in his letter, while criticizing the council's priorities.
He concluded by demanding that Ravitz "immediately transfer the charity fund money and support for the needy and kollel scholars."
Alongside the deputy council head's sharp letter, Telz Stone residents are joining the call to transfer the funds through the petition established on the matter.
The local council responded: "Please publish the response as is: two days after Yom Kippur and two days before Sukkot, the council is not interested in dealing with this nonsense and lies. The council wishes a happy holiday to all of Israel."
