Moti Leitner, chairman of the Haredi Public Party, has cut off all contact with those pressuring him to withdraw from the Knesset race, Maariv reporter Anna Barsky reports this morning.
After Leitner declared publicly Wednesday night that he intends to run to the end, his party operatives delivered a clear message to everyone involved in behind-the-scenes contacts: there will be no withdrawal and no further negotiations.
Since issuing his statement last night, Leitner has turned off his mobile phone, is not answering calls or messages, and is not responding to any attempt to apply political pressure. The battle now appears to be shifting from quiet talks to open public attacks.
