Shalom Saginer, a four-year-old boy and grandson of prominent rabbi and Jewish educator Shalom Arush, has died after drowning in a swimming pool during a family vacation in Mexico.
Local rescue teams responded to the incident and performed extended resuscitation efforts, but were unable to revive the child. The family is currently working to repatriate his body to Israel for burial in the Holy Land.

"Death has entered through our window with the grievous news of the passing of Shalom Saginer, son of Rabbi Asaf and Rivka Saginer, grandson of the renowned Torah scholar Rabbi Shalom Arush. Only four years old, he ascended pure and innocent. May the Almighty comfort us and heal our broken hearts."
Shalom Saginer was the son of Rabbi Asaf and Rivka Saginer. His grandfather, Rabbi Shalom Arush, is the founder and head of Chut shel Chesed (Thread of Kindness), a network of educational and spiritual institutions operating across Israel. Rabbi Arush is widely recognized as one of the leading voices in the Israeli Haredi community on spiritual counseling and outreach.
The drowning adds to a troubling pattern of water-related accidents affecting Israeli families during the summer season. In recent weeks, multiple drownings have been reported both within Israel and abroad, including the death of an 18-month-old girl in Ashdod and several other incidents in domestic and international locations.
Water safety advocates have urged Israeli families to strengthen supervision practices and invest in preventive measures during the summer months, when pool and beach activities increase significantly.
The Haredi community is mourning the loss. Hundreds are expected to attend the funeral, which will take place once the body is returned to Israel.
