Popular Jewish singer and entertainer Lipa Schmeltzer has publicly clarified that he is not engaged, after a rumor spread rapidly through WhatsApp groups and Jewish communities.
In a heartfelt video message, Schmeltzer directly confronted the misinformation with characteristic warmth and positivity. He explained that while he is not currently engaged, when the right time comes, with Hashem’s guidance, he will share the news personally.
He emphasized the importance of verifying information in today’s world of AI and easy misinformation, noting that only statements from his own channels should be considered official.
Most movingly, Schmeltzer responded not with frustration but with empathy and a heartfelt bracha. He suggested that whoever started the rumor may be going through a difficult time, and he wished them and the entire Klal Yisrael shefa (abundance) in shidduchim, shalom bayis, health, and inner peace.
“Whoever that is… I want to wish anybody who was in this place that needs something, they should have it. Shefa ruchniyus v’gashmiyus, shalom bayis, parnasa, gezunt, inner peace, that’s the main point.”
