Yahya Ben Yosef, one of Yemen's last Jews, dies at 100 years old
One of the last Jews in Yemen,Yahya ben Yosef is laid to rest by Muslim neighbors after his passing.

Yahya ben Yosef, believed to be one of the last remaining Jews in Yemen, passed away last Thursday at the remarkable age of 100. His burial took place in the village of Madar, north of Yemen's capital, Sana'a, as reported by Israeli media outlet Ynet.
Despite having family in Israel, ben Yosef's final rites were performed by his Muslim neighbors because there were no remaining family members in Yemen capable of fulfilling this duty.
The news of ben Yosef's passing was initially shared in a dedicated Facebook group for Yemenite Jews. Roi Kais, a reporter for Kann News, highlighted that ben Yosef had originally declined opportunities to immigrate to Israel earlier in his life but had reconsidered in his later years. Unfortunately though, he lived out the reminder of his days still in Yemen.
Once a flourishing Jewish community, the last chapter of Yemen's Jews is now closing.
