NBA star Kyle Kuzma sharply criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani following his call to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he attends the UN General Assembly.

Mamdani published a video calling on the U.S. administration to act in accordance with the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), and even asked to examine whether Netanyahu could be arrested if he arrives in New York. He later acknowledged that the municipality lacks the legal authority to arrest a foreign leader.

In response, Kuzma wrote on X that Mamdani is "a mayor playing president", adding: "People pretend to be things they don't have the authority, talent, or record to be. All for content".

According to Kuzma, many are busy creating headlines instead of actually doing their jobs.

Support from NBA Stars

On the other hand, NBA stars Kyrie Irving and Victor Wembanyama expressed support for Mamdani's message by liking the video he posted on Instagram, in which he called Netanyahu an "architect of genocide" and demanded his arrest if he enters the city.

Mamdani's statements continue to spark controversy in the United States, with critics arguing that he should focus on New York City's issues, including crime, sanitation, and the housing crisis, rather than engaging in foreign policy matters beyond his authority.
