A massive fire broke out at two factories in the Sha'ar HaNegev Industrial Zone near Sderot on Monday morning(Israel Time), sending a heavy column of black smoke across the surrounding area.
The blaze originated at the Tapugan factory, destroying storage facilities and structures on the premises. Emergency personnel from Israel Fire and Rescue Services responded to the scene to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
Initial safety protocols prompted the evacuation of workers across the Sha'ar HaNegev Industrial Zone, alongside precautions regarding potential ammonia exposure from industrial facilities. However, Fire and Rescue Services later confirmed following environmental monitoring that no hazardous materials were involved in the incident.
No injuries have been reported. Dozens of firefighting units remain on site actively working to achieve full control over the fire.
