Prof. Moshe Koppel has published a stark warning ahead of the 2026 elections, calling on right-wing voters to show responsibility and not to risk their votes on parties that are unlikely to pass the electoral threshold.
"The right is marching toward disaster in the 2026 elections," Koppel opened. "Arabs are expected to flock to the polls, and the assessment is that we will see very high turnout in the Arab sector, following the disqualification of al-Shahadeh and following Azmi Bishara's call to do everything possible to bring down Netanyahu. Remember, our greatest enemies want Netanyahu to lose."
Koppel went on to address the prospects of new right-wing parties passing the threshold and warned against failing to meet the required conditions: "Under these circumstances, and assuming overall turnout will be high, there is no realistic chance for Winter or for the Zelekha–Hendel list to pass the threshold. I call on all democratic forces on the right, those opposed to the deep state, not to vote for these parties. They have the charm of something new, but that charm could lead the people of Israel to a disaster the likes of which we have never seen."
