Two days before the election

Hendel: won't give Netanyahu 61 seats

Reservists Party leader Yoaz Hendel says he holds Netanyahu responsible for October 7th and will block him from forming a government, but would join a coalition led by Bennett or Eisenkot that includes the prime minister

Yoaz Hendel

Does Yoaz Hendel belong to the Netanyahu bloc? According to Hendel, the answer is no and he also denies belonging to the "change bloc." In an interview with Erel Segal and Eyal Berkowitz on 103FM, Hendel expressed confidence that the Reservists-Economic Party will cross the electoral threshold, and argued that it represents the only chance to form a stable Zionist government.

During the interview, Hendel was asked about possibly joining a government led by Netanyahu, and responded decisively: "I am one of those who think Netanyahu is responsible for October 7th, and the words 'I am responsible' have meaning. I want to convince all your listeners not to vote for him. I don't spare criticism, but I know how to be practical."

Hendel then emphasized his red line heading into coalition negotiations: "Because I am committed only to a Zionist government, I will never give Bibi his 61 seats, no matter what they promise. What would I do? Bennett and Eisenkot form a government with Netanyahu tomorrow, I'll take part."
