Singer and actor Idan Amedi, who was seriously wounded during reserve duty in Gaza, has announced his choice in Israel's upcoming election. In a video posted to social media, Amedi declared his support for the Miluimnikim VeHaKalkalit (Reservists and the Economy) party led by Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelekha, and explained why he believes in this political alliance.
Idan Amedi reveals who he's voting for
The wounded reservist and performer urges voters to choose by values, not polls, and announces his support for Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelekha's party ahead of Israel's election

"Vote according to your values"
"Don't think about the threshold percentage. I know they'll say it's naive, but it's not being naive," Amedi said, calling on the public to vote according to their values and ideals rather than political calculations about which parties are expected to cross the electoral threshold.
He then revealed his personal choice: "I'm voting for Yoaz Hendel, Yaron Zelekha, the Miluimnikim VeHaKalkalit."
Long acquaintance with Yoaz Hendel
He said he has known Hendel for many years and respects the positions he has presented over time. According to Amedi, Hendel was addressing issues like governance and internal fragmentation in Israeli society years ago, topics that in his view have been pushed aside in public discourse.
"I think he is a leader with broad, long-term vision," Amedi said, explaining that for him, Hendel is someone who has not changed his positions according to political winds.
"We have no other choice"
Beyond his support for Hendel and Zelekha, Amedi expressed backing for the idea of a third political bloc that would attempt to unite Zionist parties and bring about the formation of a broad government.
"I also believe in the third bloc. I believe in this bloc that's trying to connect Zionist parties. A government as broad as possible, that will answer the challenges we have from within and without. We have no other choice."
