Ben Gurion Airport began gradually resuming takeoff and landing operations Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM, Israel's Airports Authority announced, following hours of disruption that left thousands of travelers stranded both in Israel and abroad. The authority said flight schedules would be reorganized as operations restart.
The chaos began earlier in the day when ground crew workers launched a strike, forcing the closure of all check-in counters and leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights at Israel's main international gateway.
