Yesh Atid chairman Gadi Eisenkot held an emotional meeting at his party offices with Tesfaye and Virus Kaso, the father and older sister of Haimanot Kaso, marking 935 days since the young girl disappeared from the Tzfat absorption center. Social activist Yaffa Tabja, a member of the Yesh Atid slate, also attended the meeting.
As the son of an immigrant family himself, Eisenkot shared during the meeting how his mother once told him about fears of Jewish children being kidnapped in Morocco, expressing ongoing shock that such an incident could occur in Israel today. Following the conversation, Eisenkot spoke with Jewish Agency chairman Doron Almog to explore assistance in improving living conditions for the family, which continues to reside at the absorption center while waiting for Haimanot.
Eisenkot also promised to contact David Zini to examine the depth of Shin Bet involvement in the investigation and request that all necessary efforts be deployed. During the meeting, Haimanot's father Tesfaye asked the Yesh Atid chairman that should he be elected prime minister, he use his authority to officially transfer the investigation file to the General Security Service.
