Avi Issacharoff, one of the creators of the Israeli series Fauda, hit back hard at Mark Ruffalo's repeated accusations of "genocide" in Gaza, describing the Marvel star as a rare combination of stupidity and ignorance.
Speaking on a panel in London, Issacharoff questioned whether Ruffalo even understands the meaning of the term he keeps using. He argued that the hundreds of trucks carrying food and supplies that enter Gaza every day are hard to square with an attempt to wipe out the population.
According to Issacharoff, the side that tried to commit genocide was Hamas, and Ruffalo, like many others, simply fails to grasp that.
His comments come at the height of a storm that erupted after Ruffalo accused a Jewish member of Paramount's board of directors of "relishing" genocide. The company responded by calling his post antisemitic.
Ruffalo rejected the accusation, and 180 Jewish figures from the worlds of culture and academia published a letter in his defense. Issacharoff had a sharp message for them as well.
