Ayan Munir Abu Amar, a five-year-old boy, was pronounced dead on Monday at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, approximately six days after he drowned in the municipal swimming pool in Omer, a town in southern Israel.
Following the declaration of death, Ayan's family made the decision to donate his organs in the hope that they will be transplanted to patients in need and help save lives.
Family members stated that they wish for Ayan's organs to be used for transplantation to help others survive. Additional details regarding the donation process and anticipated transplants will be released in an official statement in the coming days.
The drowning incident occurred roughly six days ago at Omer's municipal pool. Ayan was immediately transferred to Soroka Medical Center, where he received medical treatment. Despite efforts by medical staff, his death was declared after nearly a week.
