Daniel Cohen, who previously served as legal counsel to Israel's Labor Party, has launched a sharp critique of recent political developments on the left, targeting both Knesset member Yoav Segalovitz and Mansour Abbas, chairman of Ra'am (the United Arab List). Cohen went so far as to call for a formal petition to disqualify Abbas from running in the upcoming Knesset elections.
Speaking on a midday radio program with attorney Itzik Bontzel, Cohen addressed Segalovitz's decision to align himself with Ra'am, an Islamist party widely viewed as affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood movement. "Segalovitz is a Jew joining a movement identified with the Muslim Brotherhood," he said. "This alliance is beyond absurd, it crosses a black line, not just a red one."
