A harrowing incident captured on a bus dashcam in Georgia shows the moment a driver fell asleep behind the wheel during an active route.
The footage shows the driver's hands slipping from the steering wheel as his head drops forward. The bus continues moving forward, drifting out of its lane before leaving the roadway entirely and hitting several trees.
Two passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the crash, in addition to the driver. All three sustained injuries in the collision, though none were life-threatening, according to reports.
Local police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The driver is facing charges including distracted driving and failure to stay in his lane.
