Iranian diplomatic representatives launched an urgent outreach initiative targeting neighboring Gulf monarchies to demand that regional governments press Washington to halt pending military operations. Official diplomatic messages warned that any renewed American military strikes damaging Iranian infrastructure will result in direct retaliatory strikes against regional energy, water, and electrical infrastructure.
The high level communications began following declarations by President Donald Trump threatening targeted strikes against Iranian energy and utility networks, according to reports published by Reuters.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conducted direct conversations with foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar, as well as senior defense leadership in Pakistan.
"We are prepared to respond, but finding a diplomatic solution is the best way to avoid wider escalation and destruction across the region," Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated during regional diplomatic exchanges.
Regional diplomatic officials confirmed that while communications were transmitted across multiple regional capitals, threats focused primarily on Saudi Arabia and Qatar due to their formal security partnerships with the United States.
"The Iranian warning was unequivocal, if America targeted Iran's infrastructure, they would retaliate by striking Gulf energy facilities and other regional targets," a senior Gulf diplomatic source stated regarding the exchanges.
Senior Iranian officials clarified that retaliatory targets would include oil refineries, electrical grids, water desalination plants, and transportation networks across the Gulf.
"The enemy continues to threaten Iranian infrastructure, if Iran suffers damage, it will inflict far greater damage in return," a senior Iranian official stated regarding operational planning.
Regional leaders responded by escalating diplomatic communications with Washington to avert further military escalation. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman subsequently communicated directly with President Trump, urging a return to diplomatic negotiations to prevent regional instability.
In Israel, defense leadership under IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir continues monitoring regional deployment shifts, maintaining elevated air defense readiness across northern and southern operational sectors.
