IDF Chief of Staff visits shooting attack site, says troops prevented worse attack

IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir visited the scene of the shooting attack near Judea Junction and stated that while the outcome is painful, initial inquiry indicates troops' actions prevented a serious attack against Israeli civilians. "We will act decisively, pursue and reach all those involved in the attack," Zamir said. He added that forces are at the highest level of readiness across all fronts, with the primary mission to thwart terrorism and ensure security. Zamir held a situational assessment with senior commanders including Central Command chief MG Avi Bluth and 98th Division commander BG Meni Liberty.
