Residents of Kiryat Shmona and communities in the Galilee Panhandle, Israel's northernmost finger of territory, reported hearing loud explosions in recent hours as the Israel Defense Forces carried out a series of planned strikes across the border in Lebanese territory.
The Kiryat Shmona municipality issued a statement to residents clarifying that the military activity beyond the border had been scheduled in advance and that no changes have been made to civilian defense instructions. "In the coming hour, the IDF is expected to carry out a wave of strikes in Lebanese territory. As a result of these strikes, explosion sounds are expected to be heard in the area," the municipality announced.
Officials emphasized that daily routines should continue as normal. "If there is any change in the situation, we will update the public immediately. At this stage, routine continues and there are no special instructions for the public," the statement concluded.
