IDF conducts surprise multi-front readiness exercise to test response capabilities
The IDF held a surprise exercise Sunday to assess readiness for sudden, large-scale multi-front scenarios. The "Breaking Dawn 2.0" drill, led by the Chief of General Staff, placed all regional command headquarters on alert without prior notice. The exercise tested responses to ground, aerial, and maritime incursions; projectile fire; shooting attacks; mass-casualty incidents; and hostage situations. Standby forces and reserves were activated, with battalions and special units mobilized and dispatched to various areas. The drill assessed multi-branch cooperation and decision-making processes across all command levels. The IDF will review lessons learned to improve defensive capabilities and readiness.
