IDF eliminates Hamas commander involved in holding hostages captive

The IDF struck in the Gaza City area on Tuesday, eliminating Momen Ahmad Salameh Ay, a commander in Hamas' military wing who participated in holding hostages captive in Gaza City throughout the war. In his role, he served as an aide to commanders of the Hamas Gaza Brigade. The terrorist recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and attempted to restore the organization's capabilities in violation of the ceasefire. He was eliminated in an aerial strike using precision munitions. Steps were taken to mitigate civilian harm, including aerial surveillance. IDF troops under Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue operating to remove immediate threats.
