IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Commanders in Gaza Strikes

IDF forces struck in the Khan Yunis area on Monday, eliminating terrorist Rafa'at Abu Zamar, a company commander in the operations headquarters of Hamas's military wing. According to the IDF, the terrorist promoted and led training sessions for Hamas operatives in preparation for the October 7 massacre, and continued in recent months to train and develop the organization's combat capabilities.

In a separate strike carried out in Gaza City, the IDF eliminated Muhammad Khadr Fahmi Agour, an operative in Hamas's military wing. The terrorist was involved in manufacturing combat equipment for the organization and worked to restore its operational capabilities.

According to the official IDF statement released Tuesday, both terrorists recently advanced terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians while working to restore Hamas's capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The terrorists were eliminated to remove the immediate threat they posed to Israeli forces.

Before and during the strikes, measures were taken to minimize harm to civilians as much as possible, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. IDF forces in the Southern Command remain deployed throughout the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.

The eliminations join a series of operational activities the IDF has carried out in recent days in the Gaza Strip. The IDF recently eliminated Muhammad Yazouri, commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade in Hamas's military wing, who worked to advance dozens of terror plots and restore the organization's infrastructure in Khan Yunis.

Additionally, terrorists who planted explosives against IDF forces in various areas of the Strip were eliminated, as part of the ongoing effort to thwart terror infrastructure and remove threats to security forces and Israeli civilians.
