The IDF is preparing for a range of scenarios following its operations at the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, including multi-front situations and the possibility of retaliation from Hezbollah or Iran. At this stage, it is unclear whether such a response will materialize.
The heightened alert comes amid Iranian threats to act against Israel in response to the Ali Taher Ridge operation. The military is preparing for various possibilities, including a response from Hezbollah in Lebanon or from Iran itself.
However, the IDF currently has no intelligence indicating that such retaliation is imminent. The preparations are being made as one possibility among the range of scenarios for which forces are readying themselves.
The readiness posture follows the IDF's completion of destroying Hezbollah's underground infrastructure in the Ali Taher Ridge area. After months of operations, forces achieved operational control over the ridge both above and below ground.
In a military briefing, officials stated that even after completing operations in the area, the IDF "is prepared for a range of scenarios, including multi-front scenarios."
