IDF releases letter by Yahya Sinwar's son expressing desire to "shoot Jews"
The IDF has disclosed a letter written by Ibrahim Sinwar, son of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, at the start of the war when he was 10 years old. The letter was recovered by IDF soldiers in Gaza in 2024, two years after Sinwar's elimination. In the letter addressed to his father, Ibrahim writes that he misses him and states: "I want to hold a Kalashnikov and shoot Jews." He describes spending his time making "pistols, tanks, and Kalashnikovs out of paper and cardboard." The letter includes drawings depicting weapons, tanks near the Gaza-Israel border fence, and missiles being launched toward Israel. The IDF says the letter and drawings demonstrate how Sinwar's ideology influenced his children's upbringing and reflect Hamas' values of hatred and violence on the younger generation in Gaza.
