Iranian authorities have executed Shahram Sadeghi, who was convicted of driving his vehicle into security forces during anti-government protests in the city of Karaj, injuring seven police officers. The regime alleged that he was acting in support of Israel, the United States, and what it termed "hostile groups."
According to Iran's judicial system, the incident occurred at Golzar Square in Karaj during mass demonstrations. Officials claimed Sadeghi drove at high speed toward security personnel, striking seven officers. The Iranian account states that one officer remained in a coma for approximately three months following the incident.
Sadeghi fled the scene after the alleged attack. Authorities say he set his car on fire and then went into hiding using a false identity. He was eventually located at a drug rehabilitation facility and arrested.
Initially, Sadeghi claimed his vehicle had been stolen and denied any involvement in the incident. Investigators asserted that evidence collected contradicted his account, and prosecutors later claimed he confessed to deliberately driving toward the security forces.
