Chairman of Iran's parliamentary security committee references dramatic food truck incident in mocking warning to U.S. president following his statements about the Strait of Hormuz

Ibrahim Azizi, who chairs the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in Iran's parliament, issued a public threat directed at U.S. President Donald Trump late Saturday night through a post on his X account.

"Instead of constantly boasting about the Strait of Hormuz, he should worry about his own security before being forced to hide in a food truck," the Iranian official wrote in a message that combined mockery with menace. The statement came in response to Trump's repeated declarations regarding the strategic waterway, through which a significant portion of global oil shipments pass.

Azizi's remarks referenced a dramatic security incident that occurred at the conclusion of Trump's visit to Turkey, when the president was transported from Air Force One using a food supply truck due to Iranian threats. The episode, which highlighted the security tensions between Washington and Tehran, has now become a tool for Iranian officials to ridicule the American president.

The threat follows Trump's recent statements about the Strait of Hormuz, in which the president suggested declaring the waterway American territory. During a speech at a police academy in Long Island on Friday, Trump stated that "after we finish defeating Iran, which is badly defeated, very soon I will declare the Strait of Hormuz as territory of the United States."
