Iranian officials continue their verbal attacks on President Donald Trump, with a senior parliamentarian issuing pointed remarks about the American leader's personal security.
Ebrahim Azizi, who chairs the Iranian parliament's security committee, responded sharply to Trump's recent statements about declaring the Strait of Hormuz as American territory. The strait is a critical waterway through which much of the world's oil passes.
In his comments, he suggested Trump should prioritize his own safety rather than issue what he called empty threats: "The American president, instead of making repeated futile threats regarding the Strait of Hormuz, would be better off and should concern yourself with your personal security. Iran manages just fine when it comes to managing the Strait of Hormuz."
The Iranian official concluded with a particularly pointed jab, apparently referencing reports of security measures taken to protect the president amid concerns about potential Iranian threats, including alleged plots against Air Force One. "You'd better occupy yourself with these matters, so you won't find yourself having to hide again in a food truck," Azizi added.
