The Prime Minister's Office has released a speech delivered by the head of Israel's Atomic Energy Commission at the global nuclear energy conference, containing an unusually direct warning about the Jewish state's readiness to defend itself by any means necessary.
Moshe Edri, chairman of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission, told the International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference that Israel will act to guarantee its existence using all available measures, just as it has throughout its history.
The decision by Netanyahu's office to publicly share Edri's remarks represents a departure from Israel's traditional policy of ambiguity on nuclear matters, signaling a clear message to Tehran as tensions with Iran continue to escalate.
