Moshe Radman Abutbul, a leading figure in Israel's anti-government protest movement, launched a sharp attack against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Economy Minister Nir Barkat, and members of the Likud party. Against the backdrop of recent controversy surrounding Barkat, Radman said he welcomed the criticism being directed at the minister and his party colleagues.
"I have to say I'm really happy to see the uproar they're making about Nir Barkat and in general all the Likud members who agreed to be Netanyahu's pathetic lackeys for years", Radman wrote.
According to Radman, Likud members enabled Netanyahu to operate for years without opposition. He claimed they "let him dismantle the state and sell it to haredi operatives and Kahanist terror supporters", adding that they allowed him "to turn Likud into a branch of 'Kahane Chai' meets Ger Hasidic dynasty". The reference is to the banned far-right Kahane movement and Ger, one of Israel's largest Hasidic groups.
Radman made clear that in his view, the current attacks on senior Likud figures are a consequence of their political choices. "You deserve it", he wrote, before presenting his forecast for the election results and the party's future.
