"Regavim", an Israeli organization that advocates for settlement activity, issued a sharp response to Britain's announcement of economic sanctions targeting Israeli entities.
Regavim accused the UK government of attempting to interfere in Israeli sovereignty while facing domestic challenges. "Instead of dealing with its internal collapse and chaos in its streets, Britain is trying with its audacity to intervene in Israeli sovereignty," the statement read. "You're confused, the days of the White Paper are long over", the group added, referring to the 1939 British policy that severely restricted Jewish immigration to Mandatory Palestine on the eve of World War II.
Regavim's statement characterized Britain's declaration as "not only a blatant violation of Israeli sovereignty, but a continuation of a century-old hostile antisemitic policy".
Regavim's statement drew a direct historical parallel: "Britain, which closed the gates of the country to war refugees in September 1939 and sent Jews to their deaths, continues in a direct line in September 2026 in a desperate attempt to establish a Palestinian terror state that would pose a real existential threat to the lives of Jews in their land".
Regavim further claimed that illegal activities in the West Bank are actually being committed by the British government itself, alleging that Britain funds construction of unauthorized structures in violation of international agreements. "The hundreds of millions that Britain invests in the corrupt Palestinian terror authority are channeled to education and incitement to murder and terror", the statement asserted. Regavim called on the Israeli government "to immediately stop all foreign and predatory interference in the homeland territories".
