Kim Kardashian's Shocking Robbery Payout

After being held at gunpoint in Paris and robbed of jewelry worth millions, Kim Kardashian received a symbolic and surprising sum in compensation. The tiny amount was her own choice.

Kim Kardashian Robbed of Millions – Here's the Compensation She Got

Nearly a decade after the jewelry heist she endured in Paris, Kim Kardashian has been awarded compensation by a French court: one euro. The unusual sum wasn't set because the court minimized the severity of the case, Kardashian herself requested just one euro, to emphasize that for her, the proceedings were about recognition and accountability, not money.

Her friend and former stylist Simone Harouche, who was present during the incident, also received one euro. Following the ruling, both women issued a statement thanking the French justice system for recognizing them as victims. "The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us," they said, adding that the decision was not about compensation but about "accountability and recognition."

The Heist That Shocked the World

The robbery took place in October 2016, while Kardashian was staying in Paris for Fashion Week. Armed robbers broke into her accommodation, held her at gunpoint, tied her up, and fled with jewelry valued at more than $6 million.

Among the stolen items was her engagement ring, estimated at around $4 million. Most of the jewelry, including the ring, has never been recovered.

Over the years, Kardashian has recounted how during the robbery she was convinced she was about to die. When she testified at the criminal trial in Paris in 2025, she described praying for her family while believing the robbers were about to shoot her.

One Euro for Kardashian, Over €100,000 for Hotel Employee

The symbolic sum stands out especially when compared to compensation awarded to other victims. A receptionist who was at the location on the night of the robbery received €109,516 for the trauma he experienced, while the hotel received €50,000.

The ruling comes after the criminal trial in the case concluded in May 2025. Eight of the ten defendants were convicted of offenses related to the robbery, and two were acquitted.

Nearly a decade after that night in Paris, the single euro Kardashian received encapsulates the goal she set for the proceedings: not an attempt to recover the value of the stolen jewelry, but legal recognition of what she went through.
