Lebanese official: Beirut cannot prevent Hezbollah from attacking Israel in U.S.-Iran war

A Lebanese official opposed to Hezbollah says Beirut does not trust assurances from Hezbollah and Iran that the group will stay out of a renewed U.S.-Iran conflict. "The decision isn't made by Naim Qassem. It's made in Tehran," the official stated. The official added that "at this stage, the Lebanese state does not have the ability to prevent Hezbollah from firing at Israel."
