Reporter Aviad Glickman launched a sharp attack on President Yitzchak Herzog on Monday, following the president's address at the state memorial ceremony for those murdered in the October 7th terror attack at Mount Herzl.
Journalist slams Herzog over speech
Reporter Aviad Glickman criticised President Yitzchak Herzog for failing to explicitly call for a state commission of inquiry in his memorial address for the October 7th victims

Glickman took issue with the fact that Herzog's speech did not explicitly include the words "state commission of inquiry". "Does anyone know why the president didn't say the words 'state commission of inquiry'??" he wrote. "I thought there was a limit to his cowardice."
In his address, he focused on remembering the murdered, the heroism of civilians and security forces, and the events that unfolded on Route 232 on the morning of October 7th. The president described how the road transformed that morning from the "road of blood" into also the "road of heroism", following the civilians and security forces who entered the area to save lives.
He also addressed the failure that occurred that morning, saying that on Route 232 "there was the terrible failure and its horrifying consequences, but there were also the strength and responsibility that arose in the face of the failures".
Towards the end of his remarks, the president also referenced the approaching elections and called on Israeli citizens to exercise their democratic right. Despite the expected disputes during the election period, he said, Israelis must remember "the simple covenant between us", which he said is greater than the differences of opinion in Israeli society.
However, in the speech as delivered, Herzog did not explicitly mention establishing a state commission of inquiry, a point that drew anger from the left.
