MK Tally Gotliv sharply attacked Shin Bet director David Zini on Monday, accusing him of failing to condemn Arab violence against Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria.

In a public statement, she wrote: "Shin Bet chief David Zini, my heart is with you. Perhaps if, G-d forbid, they arrested my brother and filed an indictment against him and he faced the danger of prolonged imprisonment, I would agree to step out of line and change my nature for him. But with all due respect, you are the head of the Shin Bet, and if they've managed to hold even you by the throat, then be brave enough and resign."

"Your lack of condemnation of Arab terror in Judea and Samaria raises a difficult feeling in me," she continued. "Your silence regarding the appalling criminal behavior of leftist anarchists against settlers and against soldiers in Judea and Samaria is a deafening silence."

She added: "Your statement today to Minister Strook, when she demanded that you recognize Arab terror in Judea and Samaria, that 'she is disconnected', reminds me of the dark days before the October 7 inferno. I stepped out of line to work for your appointment to this important position. You proved you are committed to your role when you exposed the criminal Attorney General cell. But in recent months, the Shin Bet is once again busy strengthening the false campaign of Jewish settler violence, a campaign that harms the resilience of the state in the world. What happened to you too?"

The confrontation came after Shin Bet director Zini sharply attacked Minister Orit Strook on Sunday night in the context of the storm surrounding settler violence.

Strook said: "Palestinians attack shepherds, wound them and endanger their lives. You present it as if the Arabs are honey and sweetness, and only the settlers are problematic. Expose these attacks too, deal with them and talk about them."

Zini responded: "The Palestinians are not burning houses of Jews here. You are disconnected. We need to see condemnations and denunciations from all the leadership. This harms the settlement enterprise and harms security."

Strock replied: "I condemn all the time." Bar asked her: "Where did you condemn?" Strock answered: "On Reshet Bet, on Galei Tzahal, everywhere. Just listen."
