Netanyahu Visits Terror Victim, Calls for Prayer Before UN Trip

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem Wednesday evening, an hour before his departure for the UN General Assembly, to visit the family of Neriya Leiter, who was critically wounded in a terror attack near Route 443.

Neriya Leiter is the son of Chani and Yechiel Leiter of the community of Eli in the Binyamin Regional Council. His father serves as Israel's ambassador to the United States. The victim, a reservist, suffered a head injury and was evacuated unconscious, sedated and on a ventilator.

Prime Minister Netanyahu called on the public to pray for the recovery of Neriya Dov ben Chana. The Leiter family issued a similar appeal, asking the public to recite Tehillim and pray for their son's complete recovery.

Ambassador Yechiel Leiter tweeted in the evening: "I am grateful to the IDF and to the medical team at Shaare Zedek now fighting for the life of Neriya Dov ben Chana and for the prayers of the people of Israel. I believe in the power of prayer and believe that when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen. Neriya needs a miracle."

The ambassador added that "Neriya continued to serve in the reserves after losing his eldest brother Moshe Yedidya Leiter, may G-d avenge his blood, and he has done hundreds of days of reserve duty on various fronts since October 7th. Palestinian terrorism is aimed at uprooting the people of Israel from their land. They choose death, we choose life."
