United Torah Judaism still weighing options

Netanyahu's move to block Eisenkot govt

Political analyst Barak Seri warns that the prime minister, heading a 46-seat bloc, will try to prevent coalition formation through stories about Qatar or a strike on Iran

Senior political analyst Barak Seri addressed the coalition-building options on the table Sunday on Radio 103FM, warning that Prime Minister Netanyahu will attempt to prevent MK Gadi Eisenkot from forming a government despite heading a bloc of only 46 Knesset members.

"Netanyahu knows he has no cards," Seri said. "He's leading a bloc of 46 MKs. Senior figures in United Torah Judaism reached out to me and said, 'We're not in any bloc. Netanyahu can try to prevent Eisenkot from forming a government through stories about Qatar, or a strike on Iran, everything he's trying to do is to cancel the election results. We'll be hearing more spin."

Earlier Sunday, Kol Chai reported that despite earlier reports suggesting United Torah Judaism would recommend Eisenkot for the mandate, the chareidi party is in fact weighing a recommendation for Netanyahu.
