Following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's revelation Monday evening that Iran had attempted to assassinate one of his sons, Channel 14 political analyst Yaakov Bardugo criticized Israeli media coverage of the security arrangements for the Netanyahu family.
Bardugo said that journalists and commentators have been aware for an extended period that the prime minister's family faces danger globally. "For a long time, there has been a major campaign by left-wing figures against the Netanyahu family and their need for security, when all the spokespeople, writers and analysts know the fact that the Netanyahu family faces danger anywhere in the world, at any given moment, after he ordered a series of targeted killings during the war to save Israel," he said.
He went on to criticize those questioning the disclosure itself. "Now, after the publication and without shame, a group of people continues to criticize Netanyahu and claims he is 'violating censorship,'" Bardugo said. "There is no limit to the madness they are in, and there is no bottom and dregs of garbage that this group will not descend to."
