Manor Solomon Faces Pro-Palestinian Protests at West Ham

Israeli midfielder Manor Solomon scored on his West Ham United debut, but off the pitch, controversy continues to shadow the player. Overnight Monday into Tuesday, pro-Palestinian activists scattered Palestinian flags around the London club's training complex as part of an ongoing protest against his signing.

The activists posted a video online explaining their intention to maintain the demonstrations until Solomon departs West Ham. "We have West Ham fans among us, we have season ticket holders, and we will continue to support Palestine," the video stated. "We do not agree with the signing of Manor Solomon and we will continue to make our voices heard until he leaves the club."

The incident follows earlier turbulence surrounding Solomon's arrival at the Premier League side. During his debut match against Burnley, some West Ham supporters chanted "Manor Solomon hates Palestine." The club subsequently issued a statement condemning the chant as offensive and divisive, urging fans to refrain from calls that could harm others.

On the field, Solomon has made a positive start to his West Ham career, scoring in that opening 2-2 draw with Burnley. The Hammers then fell 1-0 to Charlton in the second round of competition. Solomon was expected to feature Tuesday evening as West Ham sought their first win of the season in a cup match against Southampton, where his Israeli national team colleague Daniel Peretz plays.

Yet as the 25-year-old attempts to settle into his new club, the protests continue to intensify. The activists have now explicitly stated their goal: to maintain pressure until Solomon leaves West Ham United.
