Poll: Opposition crashes, Bennett recovers

New Maariv poll shows a difficult picture for the opposition as the coalition gains slightly but remains far from being able to form a government

Naftali Bennett

A Maariv poll published on Friday morning found the gap between the blocs continuing to narrow. The coalition bloc gained two seats this week to reach 51, while the Zionist opposition bloc weakened by two seats to 53.

According to the poll, Yashar! led by Gideon Saar and Benny Gantz holds 21 mandates, Likud 19, Yachad (Bennett's party) 13, the Democrats 10, Yisrael Beiteinu 9, and Otzma Yehudit 9. The Joint List, United Torah Judaism and Shas each hold 7 mandates.

Religious Zionism holds 5 seats, Ra'am 5, Amcha Yisrael 4, and the Reservists and Economic parties 4. Blue and White (0.7%), the Haredi Public party (0.6%), Noam (0.4%) and Tzomet Beit Yisrael (0.3%) do not cross the electoral threshold.
