A two-year-old child is in critical condition after being found unconscious in a private swimming pool in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council (which encompasses communities in the Judean Hills west of Jerusalem) Monday afternoon.
Magen David Adom (MDA) crews received a call at 5:12 p.m. reporting that the toddler had entered the water unsupervised and was found without a pulse or breathing. Paramedics immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts at the scene, including cardiac compressions, ventilation, and emergency medication.
A statement from United Hatzalah Jerusalem Division confirmed that medical teams worked to try and resuscitate a child found in a pool in Sdot Micah. The toddler's condition is defined as critical and acute.
The child was transported to a hospital while resuscitation efforts continued.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident. A welfare team from the local council has visited the family home
