A confrontation erupted Thursday in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood during a demonstration by members of Neturei Karta, an ultra-Orthodox anti-Zionist group, in which participants waved Palestinian flags.

Video footage shows a man riding an electric scooter bearing the logo of a haredi (ultra-Orthodox) charity organization passing through the area. Upon spotting one of the marchers holding a Palestinian flag, the rider grabbed it from his hands and continued riding away with the flag in his possession.

The incident escalated into a physical confrontation between the volunteer and several march participants. Additional footage shows demonstrators attacking him. Later video captured the volunteer setting fire to the Palestinian flag he had taken.

The incident had professional consequences for the rider. Kikar Hashabat learned that the charity organization disapproved of the volunteer's involvement in the incident while using the organization's scooter. A source within the organization confirmed that this was a private matter unrelated to the organization's activities, and following the incident, the volunteer was informed he would no longer be permitted to use the scooter that had been in his possession.
