The Democrats party has faced criticism on multiple fronts in recent days, including over party leader Yair Golan's refusal to reserve a safe spot on the party list for Einav Zangauker, and over an election campaign that critics say has been offensive to Mizrahi Jews—those of Middle Eastern and North African descent.
According to a report Thursday by journalist Amit Segal, party candidates attended a campaign meeting Wednesday evening where they received new instructions: shift from promoting the party individually to focusing on the broader opposition bloc. Sources close to the meeting said candidates were reprimanded for statements that damaged the bloc's ability to attract right-wing voters, including remarks by Moshe Radman and Gaby Lasky following a deadly terror attack in the village of Kfar Etz.
