Syrian journalist close to President al-Shara threatens Israel over Golan Heights

Jamil al-Hasan, a Syrian journalist described as very close to Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara, issued threats against Israel amid protests in several Syrian cities over the past 24 hours. "The Syrian people will rise up against the harm to Syrians. We will not give up even an inch in the Golan, in Quneitra, and in Daraa," al-Hasan stated. He described al-Shara as "the safety valve that restrains the Syrian people" and claimed that "with strength, courage, and determination, we overcome" Israel's technological advantage. His statement included the phrase "Khaybar Khaybar ya Yahud," a historical anti-Jewish chant.
