Terrorists threw rocks at Israeli civilians near the village of Yasuf in the Shomron Brigade earlier today (Thursday), the IDF spokesperson said. After the initial attack, rocks were also hurled at IDF forces who arrived at the friction point. One Israeli civilian was wounded and evacuated for medical treatment.
IDF forces worked to disperse those involved and carried out a suspect-arrest procedure that included firing at the rock-throwers. The IDF spokesperson confirmed hits but did not provide further details on who was struck or their condition.
Police from the Ariel station in the Shomron District later entered the scene, accompanied by forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District and IDF forces. Officers began collecting findings and evidence and taking statements as part of an investigation opened following the incident.
The IDF said soldiers and security forces are continuing operations to locate the terrorists who threw rocks and additional suspects who were at the scene. The statement did not specify how many suspects are involved in the incident, whether any have been arrested, or the circumstances that brought the civilians and forces to the friction point. The IDF spokesperson said search operations are ongoing.
