Trump announces plans for oil, gas, and mineral exploration in Greenland

President Donald Trump stated that massive oil, gas, and mineral exploration is preparing to begin in Greenland. Trump claimed experts say the amount of easily available oil there is greater than almost any land anywhere in the world. He emphasized Greenland's strategic importance for U.S. and European defense, stating that "any future attack on the United States will have to come across Greenland, where our Defense will routinely knock down drones, missiles, or any other form of weapon." Trump described the location as providing critical time, location, and sightline advantages for defense purposes.
