Don't break the record

Trump spokeswoman threatened with firing

Katie Zacharia made her debut as White House press secretary today after Carolyn Leavitt's departure. Within hours, a senior official warned her to improve fast or risk becoming the next "Mooch", fired after ten days like Anthony Scaramucci in 2017.

Trump's spokeswoman behind him, today

Katie Zacharia had barely finished her first press briefing as White House spokeswoman when the knives came out inside the administration.

According to a report on MS News, a White House official expressed doubt about her performance and warned that she needs to improve quickly, or she could be out of a job in record time.

The official compared her potential fate to that of Anthony Scaramucci, nicknamed "The Mooch," who served as White House communications director during Trump's first term. Scaramucci lasted exactly ten days in the role before being fired in July 2017.

The swift criticism of Zacharia underscores just how demanding the White House press secretary position can be, especially when every appearance before the media is scrutinized not only by reporters but by administration officials themselves.

If the report reflects the mood inside the West Wing, Zacharia will need to prove herself fast, before she's even had a chance to settle into her new role.

In footage circulating on social media, Zacharia appeared visibly confused and struggled to read correctly from the script in front of her.
